Well, blow me down! After multiple tries last night to upload my SiWC interview with Diana, NADA! I finally fell sleep haunted, not by ghosts, but by nagging frustrations. Grrr…..
The Internet gnomes must still be in REM sleep because this morning, the video loaded without a hitch! Go figure???
Days ago at 2018 NYCC, I asked Diana if I might interview her about charitable work she performs here in Surrey, B.C. – actually, has performed for the last 27 years! And, she said, yes! I share this facet of Diana because I think, for most, this will be new and news.
Do you know any woman busier than Herself? I can’t think of one. But, this wonderful woman finds time to share writing expertice and experience with some unexpected recipients. She describes the beneficiaries of her gift in the video.
I hope you watch and will be inspired to give a gift to your community. I see this as one way we can show our gratitude for the gifts she shares so generously.
As the video reveals, Diana’s work with prison inmates in Canada is a deeply meaningful labor of love. I thank her for the candor and willingness to open her heart to us. It was wonderful and inspiring to hear of her generous efforts, especially today when we drown in so much negativity.
We enjoyed a glass of wine together and another hour and a half flew by! She had to change clothes for a dinner date and then off to the Grandview Indigo book store for the author panel. Bye, Diana!
Oh, I must not forget her wonderful nails! A lovely green hue, which if I recall correctly, is her fav color!
(Dear reader, I have tried everything to right this image but it refuses to comply. Hope you can still enjoy the lovely color of Diana’s nails!)
Anatomy def:External rotation is the act of rotating outwardly.
Outlander Def: Both shoulders pulled backward, Geilles languidly gazes to the left.… “Do ye favor my splendid finger painting, wee laddie? Och! Noooo! She scares the bejesus out of Young Ian.
Moving shoulder joints towards the spine (as in standing at attention) with palms facing forward and thumbs pointing outward is external rotation. (Moving shoulder joints toward the chest with palms facing backward and thumbs pointing toward the thighs is internal rotation.)
Try this: Stand before a mirror with arms at the sides. To execute external rotation of the shoulder joint: Turn palms forward with thumbs pointing outward.
Geillis’ shoulder joints are externally rotated even with hands on her hips, but they will rotate even further with arms at her sides and palms forward.
Wee Fun Fact: Our shoulder joints are the most moveable joints of the human body.
Read about Geillis seduction of Ian in Voyager book, wherein Ian describes her foul behavior in detail. This excerpt is suitable for work – other parts are not. Read the books! <G>
““I didna want to answer her, but I couldna seem to help myself. I felt verra warm, like I was fevered, and I couldna seem to move easy. But I answered all her questions, and her just sitting there, pleasant as might be, watching me close wi’ those big green eyes.’
…“She laughed then, and looked at me careful, and said as how I might not be such a loss, after all. If I was no good for what she had in mind, perhaps I might have other uses.’ ”
